We're Supposed to be Dead

"I'll cover you," I said. "When I died I planned to buy a meal for two. But I think we can tell each other our life stories over lunch...dinner...breakfast?

"Ummm...ok."

We went to our local chipotle. I got my usual (barbacoa burrito, pretty much everything they'll put into a burrito). Luckily no one recognized me.

Turns out it was 3:48 in the afternoon. We grabbed a booth in the corner.

"Alright, I think we should tell each other about who we are. Sick boy, you go first."

"lovely. I'm Blake Davis I believe"

"More than that. How'd you die? Where are you from? What makes you, well, you?"

"My name is Fiora Weiss and I have been dead for..." I checked my watch, "nearly 24 hours." It was a lame joke, but right now we were all tense and nervous. Every little bit helps right?

I smiled a little bit. "Ok then. I died of some disease, my body rotted away for the most part. I used to live in Orgegon."

I shuddered. "Sounds nasty." and painful, and a little gross. Suddenly my death didn't look half bad.

"Nasty doesn't describe it. I hadn't even seen my family the majority of the time. They had me corintiened."

((*Quarantined* corintiened isn't a word according to google. ))

That was sad. to be alone, and in pain, no one there to hold your hand or tell you you were going to be okay. "How long were you there?" I asked.

((Sorry, I'm really bad at spelling))
"I honestly couldn't tell you. Too long."

"That's terrible! I'm Lynne, by the way. I was killed in a car crash, wrapped my new Camaro around a tree. Shame too; it was a nice car." I didn't think he would want to dwell long on his quarantine and death.

"Simon," I said. "I'm well, obviously, from here, Nainsville, Michigan. I died taking a bullet to the chest for the girl I'm in love with."

"Dude. You should totally go knock on her door!"

"No, because I'm supposed to be dead. And I'd probably give her a heart attack if she saw me," I said, trying to reason with myself. I really did want to go see her. But...I couldn't. I'm sure the Voice wouldn't like it. Or, well, I wasn't, but I had a feeling he wasn't the lovey dovey type.

"Dude it would be hilarious."

"Dude, you have a twisted sense of humor," I said. "Maybe it'd be a bit ironic. But definitely not funny."

"Hmmm I think I'm twisted in general. Quite frankly we all probally are."

"Well, considering we're dead. I would say something twisted is in order."

"That would be my line of thought."

I shook my head. "I agree with Simon. She has probably has been through enough with her friend dieing without him coming back to life. Plus, if word about us got out we would be science experiments for the rest of our regiven lives."

"Hmmm yes that would suck."

I suggest you each have a color specifically for your character. Oh, by the way, I figure they should split into teams of two now. They'll be back soon enough, though"


I was just getting up to leave when It happened again. The Voice.

ONE IS FOR YOU AND YOUR PARTNER, THE OTHER IS FOR THE OTHER GROUP. THE CARS ARE LOCATED IN THE CHURCH PARKING LOT. GOOD LUCK AND GODSPEED.
