We're Supposed to be Dead

"Agreed, I love Queen. What about Bing Crosby?"

"I don't think I know him!" I said, I was always on the lookout for new musicians to listen to. I liked to challenge myself trying to sing like them.

After dinner, we drove a little bit more until we found a decent place to stay the night. It was a holiday inn. I kinda wanted something more fancy, but location wouldn't allow it, and besides, it would be suspicious.

When we stopped in our room, I turned on the tv.
"Anything you want to watch?" I asked my partner

I flopped onto the couch, I was exahausted. "Uh...is Criminal Minds on?"

"Really? After all the drama of our past 48 hours, and your first choice is a crime drama?"

"Yeah, it sounded good to me. I always liked mythbusters if its on."

"haha, wanna watch a zombie movie to be ironic?" I asked him.

I laughed, we should have a good time together. I'm beginning to like this guy. "Sure why not." I laughed some more. "Anyone in particular you thinking of?"

We drove for a while then stopped for dinner. It was a generic diner, complete with overworked waitresses and neon lights. The food wasn't too bad though.

((So I just realized that we are going to Boston... Should we have this set in the modern day and incorporate what is going on? We could have them see it on the news, or maybe have them there to witness it... If they witness it the boys could see them on the news.))

Not only had we stopped in a generic diner, but there were what appeared to be "greasers." I tried not to stare, but it was hard. These guys were strange. It didn't help that they kept watching us too. "I think we should get a move on." I said, trying to subtly motion towards them.

((Which one? They are caught in the blast or they just see it on the news?))

I glanced in the direction she was indicating. Two girls, alone, in the middle of nowhere with a couple of creepy guys staring at them. I was inclined to agree. Now was definitely the time to leave. I left a tip and stood up.

((At least nearby because my char would know what areas specifically to avoid to stay out of the blasts.))

I stood and grabbed my jacket. I glanced one last time at the men out of the corner of my eye, they slapped some money on the counter and started to leave also.

We ended up watching the night of the living dead, and anytime there was a zombie on the screen we'd say something like, "Hey, bro, I think that's you!" It was something nice after all the craziness that had happened recently.

I turned to my new compatriot. "Well, we aught to get to bed. I'll set an alarm for 7?" I said.

It was a fun movie. We were starting to become good friends, that or we were so tired we were no longer thinking straight. "Yeah man, whenever is good. I'm an early bird."

I set the alarm on my phone for 6:30 (just in case) and moved towards my bed.

"Night." I said.

((you go, i feel a bit brain dead))

I wasn't happy until we were in the car and on our way. "Well, that was..." I trailed off, there were lot of words that could be placed in that slot. "Creepy." I decided best covered it.

I felt tired when I woke up. I was confused and disoriented. "Where am I..." My mind wandered. My body slowly falling into a state of confusion and panic.

I woke up, and noticed that ((jon)) seemed disoriented.
"Dude, are you alright?" I asked him.

The sudden course of events rushed through my head. I recalled everything that had happened over the last 24 hours. Collecting my thoughts I responded, "Yeah, I'm fine. Woke up all confused, like where am I kind of thing. You know."

"Yeah, yesterday was one heck of a day."

"Yeah, no kidding, those guys were weird." I sat back and watched out the windows for a bit, this was going to be a long drive.

"Really was. What do we do next."

"Well...I guess we're driving to chi town."
