When I woke up the first thing I heard was an annopying but steady beeping. Second was the pain in my arm. My eyes opened and I shivered. Hospital room. Needles. "no" I moaned.

I had stayed at the hospital as long as I could get away with, but, unlike yhe rich boy, my mom seemed to care if I was out too late. So I had been forced to leave, but not before i made (ezuri) promise to ley me know when sje woke up. The hospital wasn't far, so I could bike there.

I finally couldn't take it. "Mom, I am going to see how Joelyn is doing!" I called as I grabbed my jacket. She sighed. "They probobly won't let you in. Visiting hours are way over." But she didn't try to stop me. I think she was sick of hearing the floorboards creak as I paced my room. It was an old house. I ran out the roor, locking it as I went. Then I grabbed my bike and headed to the hospital. I got there in less than five minutes. I told the lady wt the desk I was there to see my friend, and that my mom had made me leave earlier and I hadn't heard anything from the person watching her. It took a while, but somehow I managed to convince her to let me back. "Ten minutes top. You find out how your friend is ane you leave. I am breaking the rules just letting you in. Don't push your luck." "I won't. Thank you SO much!" I was gushing a little, but hey, she deserved it. I walked quietly down the hall to Joelyns door, then tapped softly with my knuckles.
