lucs chuckled softly "beleive me, we have been through much worse then carrying human children from one place to another. besides it doesn;t matter if we like it or not max orderd it, and aorund here you do not defy your leaders orders" he said.

i nodded, then drifted deep into thought. what were my friend and i going to do after they got to the desert's oasis? we really couldn't run anywhere, just bunch of kids, and i doubted we could follow these guys for long... i eventually fell asleep right were i was.

I wonderd how long it would take them to figure out we were going to let them stay with us. either way, max's decisoun to bring them with us was not popular with every seron in the pack. there were those who though max was too soft and tht humans were beneath our notice. the elite had to break up several fights. a least they ahd the sense not to attack the children directly. But I did not think that would last long.


and of coruse it didin't. one day several of the fighters who did nt like max;s decisoun tried to attck the human children. But max's gaurds, and several other fighters stopped them. max himself was now walking down the line of traitors trying to decide what to do with them. max was a gentle seron most of the time. But traitors were one thing he ahd no pataints with. whatever he deicded would be severe. I stood at the center of the line of fighters. my face exspressonless from years of practice. I only spoke to give the fighters orders. but toher then that i elt my father do the talking,

i spend most of my free time talking to Kristi. she was really sweet and seemed to understand me. thee were several times in which i felt really threatened by the others, but i always made it out okay. i was beginning to feel a little more comfortable, which was good, i guessed since i had to show the way to the desert

I ahd a feleing that the reaosn we werent torn apart yet. was ebcuase max had forbidden it. I was glad the elader was ncier then mst of the fighters. he kept them in line.. most of the time.

"I have noticed, actually. i just try not to"

"oyu think someof them will try and disobey them agin?"

It had only happened once while i had only been present, and i still shuddered at the memory

the hatchling who we had once thought was named ben hung around us alot.

i tried to seem dis-interestind when ben was alone, but it was impossible

soon it was time to go. max stood at the ehad of the serons. ready tot ake off I was nervouse. what would ridieng on a seron be like? mellorie and I would be on max and lucas. they were the best fliers in the pack.

I exchanged frightened looks with Kyle (right?). Nobody knew this but i was deathly afraid of hights. Back home i didnt ever climb trees because of this. They always thought that is was because i was youngest of the group, and i was a girl. Really it was fear.

I shot mellorie a look that said "did you exspect animals with wings to walk?"

i shook my head both yes and no, basically saying that i'd expected to be flying but that it didn't change the way i felt. Then i smiled, but it didn't show in my eyed. it pretty much said your the boss of me still and if something happens you are so getting it
it felt good to be younger sometimes

I got on lucas and mellorie got on max. then everyone took off. it waswent jsut grandual. they laumched themselves into the air and in seconds were thousands of feet off the ground.

i am pretty sure i went white.
