Alley Dwellers

I thought to myself, both leaders were up to something.

It was none of the others to know what was going on but then again...maybe we should tell them... No! I put the thought out of my mind. If the Great Member wanted their meeting with us a secret then it will be kept or who knows what might happen. I sat on a garbage can for hours. Soon I heard people getting into their cars to go to work. It must be around 5 in the morning. I had stayed up all night. I had to get to Unjam soon. I hopped off of the can and started running to Unjam's normal alley to hang around. I finally found him and grabbed his arm. "I need to talk with you in private." I said to him. He nodded, hearing the urgency in my voice. We got somewhere safe where I knew no one could hear us and I told him the whole story. He nodded, thinking. "I will do as they ask but when will this staged death be.
"Today, at noon, near the city building." he nodded again.
"Well then I must go tell everyone goodbye." He started to walk away but I grabbed his arm.
"You must not tell a soul. I don't know what would happen if you did. Everyone would know about the great members and they don't want that. Just go about your daily activities. We will go on a hunt today. It will be like nothing is wrong. Besides we always go on a hunt on Saturdays." A hunt was when we went to go scavenge some food up for the week to come. Normally stolen goods from the bags' homes. Everyone will think it was just an accident.

I was extreamly good at hideing, and had heard most of the conversation. apperantly there was someone the leaders had to answer too and there was going to be a staged death. when they began comeing my way I slipped away un noticed. I knew I could not ruin their plans. so i decided to keep quite and act like I did not know a thing.

"So you heard too?" I appeared beside Kilev making him jump again.

"yes, but I am not going to say anthing about it, I beleve it is best for their plans to be kept secret"

"And that's why their sending someone who is completely incompetent to be supposedly killed? I don't buy it. She said something about Great Members. So they are real?" I was listening carefully for a heart beat or breathing the betrayed someone's presence. If I was caught here, in Alley Dweller territory, it was lights out for The Cat.

"I will not back you if you say anything. and I will deny that I know any of this" I said, and went off to do my own little things.

"I know." I said quietly before disappearing again.

like I had said, I did not mention what I knew to anyone. I did not want to mess things up.

So we went for a hunt. Noon struck and we were at the market near the city building just as planned. A light show erupted as a bomb went off where Unjam was hunting. I knew it was all just lights, smoke and sound effects but I did my part to act like it wasn't staged. I tried to run into the smoke but many of the Alley Dwellers held me back.
"There is nothing you can do now!" One shouted at me right as I caught a glimpse of an airship flying by with Unjam on board, ready for his new life as a Great Member. I went to my knees and sobbed. This was not fake though, I was truly sad to lose a great friend. My men helped me up and took me back to the corner of the city where I could mourn in peace.

I watched for a distance. I knew what she must be feeling. even tho her freind was not really dead. she most likely would not see him again.

"Mari, I know that was just lights. Good special effects though. You almost had me fooled until the airship flew by." I made sure only she could hear me.

"Zakuro you know nothing." I said to her. "I know that there is something out in the mountains. The Great Members" She answered. I lost it then and I pulled my gun on her.
"Zakuro I could pull this trigger right now and kill you and I would be completely in the right just because you are standing there." I said, trying not to yell.
"I know you could, but you won't."

I had seen everything. More then ((Anabella Seron)) even. I knew what both sides were thinking. I knew how to learn the truth. I sprinted past the other toward the area of the airship.

and that is why I am not going to tell her I know anything. I thought, watching them. I walked over to them. "is there a problem over here?"

"Nothing you would know anything about, Kilev." I carefully slide a knife down my sleeve and into my hand, without anyone seeing.

"I wasent talking to you" I said.

"Just get her out of my sight before I pull the trigger." I told Kilev. I couldn't move my arm away. I really wanted to pull the trigger. It felt like MY life hung in the balance.
((13ob, that airship is going hundreds of miles away from their city at the speed of a jet airplane. I really doubt your character could follow it.))

"you heard her, time to go"

I smiled mischeviously. "Okay." I fell through a hole in the ground. I caught myself and slid the cover in place before either of the two Alley Dwellers could react.

"that was kind of weird" I mutterd.

"Its Zakuro, what can you do?" I said lowering my gun with a sigh.

"I don't know" I said. "but she keeps trying to get me to spy on you"

"spy on me? Why would she want you to do that? What have you heard?"

"iv;e heard enough," I loward my voice so only she could hear. "I know your freind is not really dead, but for the sake of not messing things up for you I will not mention anything, as far as everyone els knows. I do not know a thing"
