Growing pains and heartache.

"No, you just need to get up." I said standing up, pulling him out of bed, trying to fix his hair.

((hmm))

I laughed "You have a cowlick"

"I do?"

"Yes," I smiled, slicking it down with water. "There you go!" I say lightly kissing him on the cheek before taking his hand. "Lets go shock the world."

"that soinds like something I could do"

I laughed. Untill I realized that we would have to go through the ice water to get out of here. I groaned.

"oh come on. we can handle a little water"

"You're made to be able to stand the elements. I'm not remember? But whatever. Hypothermia! Hooray!"

"hang on. I think I have a solution to our problem"

"What?" I asked.

I made the water warm.

Getting wet was not my favorite thing to do, but I jumped though the waterfall and swam to shore, wringing out my dress. Naturally the wind was blowing.

even when she was wet she was still beautiful. we held hands while we walked back to camp.

The wind slightly chilled me but I didn't care one bit because of the person next to me. We walked into camp like rain washed heroes.

At first everyone just stared at us. Noone moved. then a small hatchling, probably only a week or two old, darted out and jumped onto abbie I told them you were alive!

I smiled and laughed softly And you were right, I told her.

Slowly, everyone came over and welcomed abbie and me home.

Hugs were given, tears split, greetings and well wishes exchanged.

one of the last to approach us was the mother of the hatchlings we rescued.. and the hatchlings with her. she pushed them forward gently. "what do you say to them?" she said softly to them. there was a lot of mumbleing and shuffling of feet.

I smiled and got onto knee level to see them eye to eye, They were both embarrassed I could tell.

I smiled did the same. it took some time but they did get around to thanking us for saving them.

I was just glad to know they were alive and in a way I felt a connection to them a duty to protect them. Looking up at their mom I said If they ever need anything...

"I will know where to look" their mother said, with a smile. later that day, we walked into my families cave. Slaincor was giving jack advice on leading the pack. training to be a leader lasted clear untill the old leader died or retired. "Ruling by fear is not the way to run a pack" slaincor was saying to his son. "But Be a freind to those under you, and when there is a time of war or some other danger, they will trust you and will give you honest information instead of telling you what you want to hear weather it is true or not" Jack nodded as his father spoke. slaincor then turned to daisy. "you look as if you would like to say something"
