Children of the pack leaders

"it has happend before. remember that story my dad told us about how a black seron leader named morcrasa became a gold seron? "

"No, i havent, actually,"

I was about to say something But I was cut off by a loud roar. it was louder then any sound a seron could make. it made the cabe walls tremble. "what was that?" I said. "the forest phantom" one of the guards said. "the monster who has been terrorizeing the gold serons for centuries... there is no known way to kill it." I was scared now. I had always felt safe around the fighters. but how could they keep us safe from something they did not know how to kill?



((the forest phantom is a demon.. but the serons do not know what humans call it. the serons territory used to be a magical preserve like fablehaven b the forest phantom ovethrew the treaty. he has been terrorizeing the gold serons ever since.. he is also what killed of the multi colord serons. ))

(Is that why they're so rare?)
I froze. i had created that habbit whenever there was something dangeous around

((yeah.. the forest phantom killed nearly all of them))
"he sounds close" I said, my voice shakeing.

we all huddled close. i could tell Kristi was in tears for frear

the elite gaurd walked in, moveing quickly. towards the leaders cave. they are going to warn the leader about the forest phantom I geussed.

My aunt appeared, seemingly out of nowhere and moved to stand in front of us

my father came out of his cave with a impressive line of fighters behind him. I felt a pit in my stomache. from what I heard, they were very brave to attept to protect us from an unkillable enemy.

I was pretty nervous about the whole thing. Not that anybody could tell by looking @ me...untill i get sick all over the ground

I couldent hold it back. I started crying. I knew they couldent live through this. how many of the gold serons would die trying to protect us? then I heard the sounds of fighting outside. and the roars of a large creature. I peeked outside the cave and saw the fighters swarming a giant creature. he was swatting away fighters like flies. my father stumbled and lost his footing for a second. the forsest phatom dove right for him. without knowing what I was doing. I shot forward and jumped between them. I was hit very hard. and I slammed into the side of the wall next to alyss and kristi. I felt several things snap and everything went black.

(my heart rate literally just sped up,) \
"NO!" i shrieked, but it was too late. My eyes wanted to cry, but couldn't let them do that just now.
You okay? You okay? youokay youokayyouokay? that was all i could say. the question was not only to my friend but to all those i loved and was worried sick about.
something snapped in my brain.
"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU"RE DOING?" I shouted at this enemy

I am killing just becuase I can the forest phantom hissed. serons are so fun to kill. espeshily the hatchlings. I snarled and clawed at his face. you leave them alone!

anger. I made the loudest, most high-pitched noise i think that has ever reatched any ears, and stomped on the feet of this enemy

the frst phantom recoiled at the sound. shakeing his head as if to clear it.

when I woke up I felt pain in every part of my body. alyss was gone, and kristi was still by me.

(Kristi)
"you okay?" i asked as Lucas woke up. "Thats a stupid question, let me rephrase, are you gonna be okay?" I was pretty concerned. I had no clue what was going to happen, but at least one of my friends was here talking to me.
In front of me, i heard Lydiaa mutter something under her breath about 'And i thought I had a good screech'

I took advantage of the Phantom's momentary hesitation to bite the back of his leg. Hard. He wailed and wobbled, appearently lost in balence. before he could fully recover, i was back to where my friends were, hiding. he had not cluewhere i went.

I was too weak to say anything. even the slgihtest movements hurt.

"Stay calm," i advised, calmly

I tried, really I did. But it was hard when that phantom was outside killing the fighters.

THe noise outside was becomng too much again.
I moved just out of out hiding spot and squeked again

suddenly it was quite. but I could still sense the minds of sevral of the fighters. he left one of my guards told us. we arent sure if he is comeing back or not.


soon healers were there to help me. They seemed more concernd then I ould have liked. I heard the lead healer say to one of the other healers. "let his freinds and family come see him, he isn't going to make it.." I got worried then. was i really not going to make it? would alyss and kristi be ok? all these thoughts ran through my mind as I slowly began to get weaker. I saw my freinds and family gathering around me.. I could tell they had been told what was happening.


((he is going to die. but then be sent back by one of the past leaders.. but that will be after he has been gone for a few hours))

Neither KRisti nor i knew what to think. we were both beyond shaken up and sad. I was hesitant to go see Lucas out of fear that i'd start crying uncontrollably

i'll never forget either of you I said to kristi and alyss. then I was gone.

I froze. I think that my heart skipped a beat.
Tears....gone...miss.....won't forget i couldn't think

I stood in the middle of a grassy feild. I hoped my freinds would be alright. it took me a few seconds to realize I was not alone. There was another seron here, hello lucas he said. I am marcus, the leader before jake. I looked up at him. will my freinds be ok? I asked him. yes, they will be, in fact they are about to get a wonderful suprise. it is not our time yet. I stared at him. what do you mean? I said. there is still something you need to do. something all three of you need to do. and he enxt thing I knew I was wakeing up in my own body again. all my injureis healed. I noticed alyss and kristi crying in the corner of the cave ((five hours has passed)) I walked over to them. "hey, I'm not gone yet" I said to them.
