Velsquein.........

For the first time that morning I spoke: my voice shaking and horce. "I kept lookout in this tree. Thrice they came and thrice I faced death. Thrice I also survived."

I put my hand around her shoulder. "Sorry. The animals were supposed to warn me of danger. I'm not sure what happened. Oh and why didn't you call for help either?"

Rather than speaking I showed him the memory. The terror of the monsters they were and how they used their own type of magic to silence everything in their wake. How I simply could not speak.

I nodded her. "Alright. I'm sorry." I cursed under my breath. "Are you able to heal yourself? I mean you have an extensive herb bag right?"

"The last one ate it."

"well.......then...."

"Your dragon made it...."

Yeah. I've noticed that

"He's fine. I was able to heal him with my hands but..." I shivered. Maybe I shouldn't tell him.

I kept my arm around her "What's wrong"

Tears spilled. "I got their blood in me...its poison. I'm dying."

I whistled. that was bad. "um....well.......i.........." this was bad. "Man your hard to deal with you know that right" i closed my eyes and thought for a moment "How long till the venom takes your life. If you know that would be helpful so i can decide what to do"

My feet shook ad my pulse began to race. No, i couldn't let it. I quickly grabbed a bit if pine bark and held it under my nose. It slowed my heart a bit.
"Um, an hour? Two maybe"

i cursed. "do you think you could whip up a cure or do we need to go find a medic"

"If I was curing a full dragon I could use Teale nectar. If I was a full elf i could you Blue pollen. But they both are lethal to me. "

I closed my eyes and thought. "What if their mixed together like you."

"Twice as lethal, probably. Now wouldn't be the time to experiment. What do we do?"

I shrugged "We'll we could try to get back to the proffesor or if we continue on we can get to the sancutary. It's deserted in between. I'd say mix the plants or bolt for it and we'll play 'who is faster, two elves or death?'" I smiled at my joke. "What do you want to do."

My eyes closed as I tried to think. "Take me back to the professor if you think he could do something. I cannot run."

I nodded "yeah he can do something. He's a pretty powerful wizard, been living for quiet a while." I picked her up and cradled her. "you ready" i asked bracing myself to run. I noted really quick where my dragon was.

"My life is now in your hands." I whispered, bracing myself against him, leaning my head into his chest.

"Yeah, Yeah" I muttered. I set off at a brisk pace. Running as fast as i could. I knew where we were going at least.

MY eyes drifted shut as I fell asleep like a child in her parent's arms.

'hold on' i thought to myself. I kicked myself into overdrive a bit and just started running to my limit. i could feel the blood pulsing through my vains.
