"Mug? I can assure you, I am no mugger." I responded, with a certain indignance.

"Is there a title you would rather me use for you then?"

"He can't, the sword that used to be his is over there." I respond to the girl who still hasn't told me her name. I don't trust Kyle yet, because I've seen him hold up several people, but there's always hope. Besides, as I pull him to his feet I can see that I'm taller by a few inches and he's at least a year younger than me. Even if I didn't have armor and he had the element of surprise I think I could beat him in a fight. "Hi, Kyle. Who are you, where are you from, and what's your story? How have you survived until now besides holding people up for their equipment?"

I gave Lyrica a concerned look. This may not end up well at all.

I was tense and ready to run. I wouldn't leave Ellie though. I had been alone since the end. I wasn't going to abandon the first friend to come along to a bunch of looters.

Slipping off the top of the bookcase I did what was almost a jazz run over to her standing shoulder to shoulder. "What do we do now?" I whisper. "I don't think our second guy is completely out to get us, just a little spazzed out"

Seeing that the guy isn't responding, I go on, telling him how things will be. "You can go if you want, we really have no right to keep you here. Or you can stay. But if you stay and turn out to be trying to rob or kill us, it will be much worse for you than if you just go. Or if you stay and are an ally, we can help each other survive... after we come to trust you." I already trust the girls because they didn't kill him when they had the chance, because of how they act, and because they respect books. Over the course of the few days I've watched the library, I saw this guy hold up several people and rob them of whatever equipment they have. I know he would love to have my armor, and I have lots of stuff back at my parking garage that he could sell. Better not show him that... I snap back to the situation at hand, walking over and picking up his sword. I look at it, then back at him. "So what is your choice?"

I Still had the ropes around my hands, I was tempted to try and choke him out. But, the girls might try to get in the way. I would have to take their things, otherwise I would go hungry. I learned that fact a long time ago. It was survival of the fittest now, I had to do what I could to survive. I'd stick with them for now, but I'd run away with something as soon as I could.

I was doing some target practice bareback, racing through the brush on my horse Rube, when I herd the sound of a roar, so terrifying, that I would have fell from my horse's back, had Rube not woken me from my daze with a piercing whinny for help.
