"This doesn't look dangerous at all." I said dryly as I sent a few small flames a little ways down the stairs. A cool breeze pushed past us.

"please, danger's my middle name," I said sarcastically, heading down the stairs.

About halfway down the stairs, they just stopped. There was still hundreds of feet til the bottom, but the stairs just ended.
"Well, this is fantastic," i said.

"Hmm, Let me see here." I summoned rocks to form stepping stones. "Just don't fall." I jumped onto the first one and it wobbled slightly.

I followed her down, and was surprised that i didn't fall. "Not bad," I commented.

The room we were in was spacious. No, not spacious, huge. The ceiling seemed to be a hundred feet in the air, and just a step echoed tens of times. In the center of the room there was a staff. It was set into the ground as if waiting for someone to lift it.

"Here comes the test," I muttered, and I braced myself for the worst.

"The test won't start until we make a move for the staff." I planted my feet and launched myself at the staff. I grabbed it, landed and rolled to my feet, now on the opposite side of the room. The floor rumbled and began to turn slowly, like a cog.

Out of the ground came something I had never seen before in my life. We had never studied it in class...It was like a centaur, only instead of a horse bottom half, it had a dragon bottom half. It's head was also that of a dragon. It was massive, probably 30 feet tall.

I raised my sword, and channeled water through it. Dragons don't like water, right? I charged forward and hit it with all my might.

It barely flinched.

I watched Jack anger the creature as I studied the staff in my hands. I had an idea. I pointed the staff at the creature and released my magic through it.

There was a boom.

The place was suddenly in rubble. I tried to get up, but there was a giant slab of rock on top of me. The demon-centaur was gone, though.

"Help!" I cried.

I ran over and made the rock crack and shift to release Jack. I helped him up. "That's probably only the first of it, but if we can get back up to the entrance we should be fine. Can you make it?"

"Yeah, I'm used to working through pain." I started running, but it hurt to much. I eventually had to have help just to walk.
"Wow, this is embarrassing," I gasped

"You spent more energy than you thought with your attack on that creature." I said somewhat softly. I brought the slab over to us and Hunter and I helped Jack onto it. Once we were all on it, I lifted it to the stair case.

"It wasn't the attack that hurt." I sighed. "I was whatever you did with that staff."

"Sorry, it's a little hard to aim." The stairs seemed to take much longer going up than they should have. Once we reached the entrance, I fused the doors shut behind us.

"We aught to get back and tell the headmaster about this..."

"Agreed. Let's go. Wait, let me brace you first." I pulled thin sheets of stone from the ground and created a sort of stone armor around Jack's body, making it very stiff. "It'll be a little tough to move, but its the best I can do until we get back."

"oh boy, i feel safe now." i said sarcastically.

"I'm sure. Just be glad I didn't encase your mouth. Now come on, I'm tired and I'm wet and I'm sure I am carrying some pretty bad diseases." I started back out of the sewer, playing with some small flames as I walked.

((Wow...what happens when a you have school and then marching band. I'll just say i've been there...))
When she used the staff there was a definite intake of surronding energy. I could feel it pulling energy from all around, including from us. "I'm going to say don't use that again until headmaster says otherwise."

"Well, I don't object," I said, wincing.

"Fair enough." The ground was shaking. "lets bail."

"Agreed. Now, does anyone remember which way out?" I glanced down several different passageways.

"I vaguley rember going down."

"Of course we went down! We're in a sewer!" I practically shouted. I wasn't a fan of dying in a smelly sewer.

"Just go up!" i shouted, raising my sword in the air and blasting a beam of energy into the ceiling.

Rock and dirt rained down and I pushed it away form us and formed a sort of stairway.
