Short Stories

For school this year, i'm reading a lot of short stories for homework.

As was said by my teacher last year, short stories have to be strange and will often hurt your mind because there's not even ten pages to get the point across.

Just wondering which short stories you've read, and what you think of them.
so far i've read

The Elevator,
The Lottery
The Worlds Most Dangerous Game,
The Necklace
and
The Scarlet Ibis (really sad,)

oh and a few stories by Poe

nobody reads short stories?

not really. I prefer longer books.

I've had to read them for school
and they have all had somebody dying or something tragic happed.

I started reading a short story in English class while evrybody was working, but I don't remmeber the name. I only read it because my teacher said that I could if it was in English so I didn't have to do really easy exercises like "Fill the gaps with the verb in brackets in Past Simple". I didn't even finish it...

If you ever get the chance to, whatever you do, DON'T READ ANYTHING BY EDGAR ALLAN POE!!! In a word, they're all disturbing.

did you know that he married this cousin? when she was 13! he was 27!

And he killed her, and buried her in his wall. It makes me kinda glad he's not alive anymore.

she died of sickness. Somebody was bruied in a wall in "Cask of Amontiallo"

She was walled much the same way in "The Black Cat."

I haven't read Allan Poe's stories, but a friend of mine has and she likes them.

he's desturbed, hUGELY, but sadly, desturbed peoplecome but with great things, good and bad
